It’s been another busy week in badgers class. We have been up to lots of fun and exciting activities this week. We have introduced our new story, celebrated Chinese new year and continued to look into our healthy me topic😁
The Hungry Caterpillar🐛🦋
This week in badgers we have been learning our topic ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. We’ve enjoyed listening and watching the story and everything that greedy caterpillar ate before he turned into a beautiful butterfly🐛🦋. We’ve been counting all the fruit and vegetables he ate Monday-Friday and matching some of the cakes and sweet treats he ate before transforming.

Chinese new year🐲🇨🇳
Being Chinese new year, we have been painting and making snakes to hang up around badgers classroom. We also had a special visit from Rushall primary who together made a long wiggly dragon for us to look at as they walked round the school. We all joined in by playing musical instruments and making lots of loud noise🪇🎹
Cooking Chinese Noodles🍝😁
In cooking this week we tried noodles and different vegetables. We added some sauce to make them extra yummy. The children all did amazing with mixing and trying the noodles and vegetables even though it was something new and different. Well done Badgers👏🏼😆
Vegetable Mark Making🥕🥦
As our topic is The Very Hungry Caterpillar, us in badgers have been vegetable printing. We also have been looking at how we keep ourselves healthy in our PSED sessions. With different textures and smells, all the children were able to use their fine motor skills to create different colours and patterns with paint and the vegetables. We used carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and some smelly sprouts to create some different patterns. Some of our badgers were able to try the vegetables.
