Badger News😁🦡

Welcome back Badgers!

Hope your all have had a lovely week off. We’ve been working extremely hard on lots of different things including our topic ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’🐛, Our Shapes, Spreading and asking Jam Sandwiches🍓, Showing off our dance skills with our friends and working on our teeth brushing in PSED😁

The very hungry caterpillar 🐛🦋

This week some of us have been posting all the different fruit, vegetables and sweet treats the hungry caterpillar ate before he turned into a beautiful butterfly🦋 Some of us have been using communication and language through colourful semantics. Using the semantics helps us understand who it’s happened to, what’s happened, when it’s happened and why is happened. We all did so incredibly well and we are starting to engage for a longer periods of time. Well done Badgers🦡😁

Cooking – Making Jam Sandwich’s🍓

This week in cooking we made yummy jam sandwiches. Since the start of the school year we have all being working super hard on all our life skills including our spreading skills. We’ve been using ALD’s to communicate with the adults around us for what we would like to use. Badgers we are all so unbelievably proud of you guys, whether it be that you are trying now things or you are going onto next steps from spreading to cutting independently😆👏🏼

Teeth Brushing🪥🦷

Today in Badgers we’ve been working on our teeth brushing skills in our PSED lesson. We all had a separate toothbrush with some minty tooth paste to clean our teeth to make them nice and shiny. As part of our PSED topic we are going to be learning how to keep our self clean. Next week we are going to be using flannels and soapy water to wash our faces😁

Play and Communicate 😊

We have all been working on a new skill this week and that is playing and interacting with our friends. Some of us will use train tracks, click clack tracks and play food. Sitting with a familiar adult, we’ve been playing with some of our favourite toys. We have also been using ALD’s to communicate whether we would like to play with something different or whether we would like more. This helps us build the understanding and skills to play with our friends using toys we both like. Well done Boys😆

National Dance Day🕺🎉

This Friday was ‘National Dance Day’ for the school. We had a big party and some loud funky music that we all had a dance to. We all enjoyed dancing and interacting with our friends and watching the pretty sensory lights. We also enjoyed looking at all the different costumes our friends dressed up in.

We are all proud of how amazing you all did for the first week back and how hard you have worked!
Have lots of rest and a fantastic weekend.

Badgers News 😁🦡

This week in Badgers we have been working very hard on many different things. It’s been a short but sweet term and we have enjoyed every second of it😊 This week we have been continuing to explore our caterpillar story, making milkshakes and celebrating Valentine’s Day🐛🥛🍓❤️

The Very Hungry Caterpillar🐛🦋

This week we have been exploring lots of different things to do with our topic, the very hungry caterpillar. We have been watching Harriet in bucket where she did shaving cream glitter which made a beautiful caterpillar for us all to look at. We’ve been making our very own caterpillar with paint and balloons which have gone above are Hungry Caterpillar display🐛😊

Valentines Celebration ❤️

In Badgers we have been sharing and showing our love with friends and family. We’ve been working on our PSED skills to learn and understand what ‘Valentines’ is. We’ve made our families a very special hand print heart that shows how much we care and appreciate everyone❣️

On Friday we had a very special bucket with lots of lovely different toys and even did a heart explosion in stage 2 which we all loved. Zoe had different colour hearts of tissue paper and glitter the she made valentines cannon with a balloon. We had some sensory play with the tissue paper we used in bucket to mimic what Zoe was doing as we all really enjoyed watching and wanted to try ourselves.

Another thing we enjoyed in is our problem solving skills where we engage in sorting too half of hearts which had numbers on to make one big heart. Some of us enjoyed playing with play dough and making our own heart.

Cooking – Making Milkshakes🥛

This week in badgers we have made strawberry milkshakes🍓. We used ALD boards and instructions to make our milkshakes and request items from adults. The children did amazing pouring and mixing to create their own milkshake. We then added some whip cream and sprinkles to the top. Some of the children then tried their milkshake and really enjoyed it🍓🥛😁.

Have a lovely half term badger families😁

Hello Badger Families👋😁

Hope you have all had a lovely week. In badgers class we have been up to lots of fun and exciting things. We have been making cereal, looking a numbers and playing with our adults and friend’s😁😆

Communication and language🗣️

This week in badgers we have been working really hard on communicating with our adult friends. We all have the choice of what we would like to play with. It may be bubbles, bricks, posting coins and a spinner, which we all love. We use ALD’s to show whether we want more or whether we have finished. This will help us to grow independence and hopefully be able to use an ALD board without as many prompts.

Cooking- Making cereal🥣

This week we have been continuing to work on our independence skills in cooking. This week we made some cereal. We had rice crispies, which we love! We each had a bowl and we used the ALD boards to communicate with adults when we wanted our cereal. Once the children had some cereal, the adults added some milk into the cup and encouraged the children to pour it in the cereal. We then got to try our bowls of cereal😆🥣.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛

This week we have continued our story, the hungry caterpillar. We have been using our felt props to recreate our story. The children use the little caterpillar and post it through the holes of different foods. Some children have started to work in their books and match different caterpillar themed pictures🐛🦋

Numbers day 💯

On Friday we celebrated the NSPCC number day . It was great to see some of the children in their number themed clothes🔢🎽. We had lots of fun and exciting number themed activities to take part in. In the tuff trays we had sand, cereal and Numicon. The children really enjoyed exploring the trays. Adults sat with the children and encouraged them to look and create the numbers.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to go swimming this week but our fingers are crossed to go next Thursday🏊‍♂️🤞.

Have a lovely weekend Bagders Families🦡😁
