Spring Sunshine and Mother’s Day

Last week the weather was beautiful and the Little Badgers were able to spend lots of time outside, riding the go-karts, playing in the sun and exploring.

They also had a super swimming session, exploring more of the pool, floating on their backs and using the toys. Morgan got Star of the Week for his super swimming and increased independence with dressing after swimming. Well done, Morgan!

We hope you liked the Mother’s Day card which your child brought home. They were all very co-operative when having their hands drawn round and loved painting the card and using the glue to put them together.

The Little Badgers also did some lovely counting work, had fun with sensory resources and improved their skills with finding their own photos during registration. Well done, Badgers!

Outside Play and Red Nose Day

This week we have had some beautiful weather and the Little Badgers have been able to play outside a bit more. This coincided with all our bikes and go-karts being mended so the Badgers had fun giving them all a test drive.

The Little Badgers also continued to find out about Earth And Space. This week they made planets from play dough and made some moon rock cakes. Some of the cakes didn’t get as far as the children had a lovely time making and tasting them.

Because swimming was cancelled, we had an extra hall session. We also started to get ready for spring by planting some broad bean seeds. The Little Badgers loved exploring the compost and adding water to it.

Today was Red Nose Day and some staff and children wore red. We watched Red Nose Day songs on the big screen and danced along.

The weather forecast for the weekend looks great. We hope you all have a super weekend .

5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Blastoff!

This week we launched our Earth and Space topic by listening to the Rocket Ride song from Barefoot Books and reading a book called ”On The Launchpad.” We introduced the children to a lovely rocket toy compete with astronauts and a space buggy and some of them have begun to play imaginatively with it. The children also made some lovely rocket pictures with their handprints and made a paper plate space helmet with their own photo inside, so that they look like space men.

The Little Badgers have done lots of sensory exploration this week, including experimenting with cornflour, jelly and water. They also had lots of fun in the swimming pool and in PE. Attention Autism is also going well, with more Little Badgers focusing for longer.

Our Star of the Week this week was Noah, who has been interacting really well with his peers this week, playing with them and encouraging them to play with him. Well done, Noah!

Book Week-Animal Antics

This week the Little Badgers have been very busy with Book Week activities.

They made their own animals from furry patterned paper, some of them using the scissors themselves with very close supervision.

They made animal biscuits and played with animals in the tuff pit.

They read their books from home and drew animal pictures.

we have had a new relaxation area by our classroom door which is lovely if the children need a few minute’s peace and quiet.

And the children have been maling ptogress with Attention Autism too, taking turns to do an activity. more children are taking part now.

And finally, this week we had two Stars of the Week as we didn’t have one before half-term. Gabriel has been improving his social skills with peers and adults and Mohamad has made super progress with toilet training. Well done, Badgers!
