Hello everyone, we have had a very busy two weeks in Bumblebees ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ. We have been โ€™back to basicsโ€™ concentrating on communication skills (well done, everyone ๐Ÿ˜Š). We have reintroduced our Attention Autism (or โ€™Bucketโ€™ sessions) and the Bumblebees are reacting fantastically well!

We have been celebrating Eid this week, making decorations and sprinkling hundreds and thousands onto iced biscuits.

We also have a new topic song โ€™The Train Rideโ€™, which all of our children love. We have started to make a display about the story, and we also had fun moving to the music in P.E.

Have a great weekend

Easter Festivities ๐Ÿฃ๐ŸŒนโœ๏ธ

Hello everyone

Our Bumblebees have been very busy this last week, as we approached the Easter holiday. We have used paint and collage to make Easter pictures and cards. We had a very exciting Easter egg hunt in our classroom and then had a wonder time eating them. We also made some Easter crowns/bonnets as well as explored our lovely Easter sensory tuff tray.

The Bumblebees have all worked hard this term and we are so proud of them. We hope you have a good break and lots of good weather.

Colourful Holi! ๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽ‰

This week we are showcasing the activities we did for the recent Hindu festival of Holi. This is a very joyful festival as people celebrate the coming of Spring and its colours. Our Bumblebees made some iced biscuits with hundreds and thousands, produced some lovely rainbow pictures, danced under the parachute, and some of them had their faces painted. We also held a celebration assembly with our satellite friends on Friday. What a fantastic week!

See you soon,

The Bumblebees Team ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ

Spring is coming! ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒผ

Hello everyone

The Bumblebees have enjoyed the better weather this week, being outside more and having a go on the bikes.

We have continued our life skills and problem solving with spreading jam on bread, and also by making some fruit rockets by covering bananas with chocolate spread. Yum ๐Ÿ˜Š

There are quite a few festivals and celebrations coming up, and this week we explored all things green for St. Patrickโ€™s Day, making a collage of a shamrock, as well as listening to some traditional Irish music.

Stars everywhere โœจ๐ŸŒŸโญ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ซ

Hello everyone

We have been looking at and making lots of stars this week. We made potato print star patterns, which was fun. We made cheesy bread stars, which were very tasty. Then we used our whole bodies in P.E. to make star shapes, listening and moving to music called โ€™Birth of a Starโ€™.

What a starry week!

See you soon,

Bumblebees Team ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ

Animal Antics!

Hello everyone

Welcome back after half term. We hope you had a great week with your children, although the stormy weather probably meant staying indoors more than ususal โ˜”๏ธ๐ŸŒช

This week we have celebrated World Book Week, our theme being โ€™Animal Anticsโ€™. This meant we were able to re-visit our favourite book and song, โ€™The Animal Boogieโ€™. We enjoyed watching and joining in all of the different moves featured. We made some animal pictures using finger paints and dabbers, which we have included for you below.

We have focussed on reading and looking at books, including the whole school Book of the Week, โ€˜Dear Zooโ€™, and we captured some lovely moments of our children looking at books, and of course, iPads which require reading skills too.

On Thursday we celebrated by dressing up as animals, or fancy dress. I am sure you will agree all of our bumblebees looked absolutely fantastic, as did our lovely ladies in Bumblebees class.

Have a great weekend!

Number Day!

Our Bees (adults & children) have really enjoyed celebrating Number day on Friday!

It has been so lovely seeing our bees dressed up in differ Numbers and Shapes, celebrating all the different areas of Maths.

Throughout the day we have enjoyed moving to counting songs during PE and exploring numbers & shapes during our Child-led and iPad sessions.

Below are some of our favourite counting songs for you to share at home.

We hope you enjoy these songs, at home, as much as we do in school.

Have a lovely weekend.

Twinkle, Twinkle

Hello Bumblebees ๐Ÿ

It has been very nice to welcome back staff and children who have been affected by covid. We have had a wonderful week together enjoying our topic song – Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star ๐ŸŒŸ

We have uploaded our version below for you to enjoy at home with your little ones.

Enjoy singing and signing the song! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Weโ€™ve also enjoyed making Moon Rocks and glittery Stars. As you would have found out, by all the glitter, our Bees have really enjoyed these activities.

Enjoy the rest of the week!

Superstar of the Week!

When our children are in conflict with the world, it can be very hard for them to enjoy even the nicest of things.

This has been the case for this weekโ€™s Superstar of the Week. He is a young boy who has let down his barriers during our Chinese New Year celebrations this week, allowing himself to enjoy all that was on offer. Well done!

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year 2022 โ€“ Year of the Tiger

This week in the Bumblebees class, we have been celebrating Chinese New Year – it’s the Year of the Tiger!

We have enjoyed listening to Dragon Dance Music – exploring some of the sounds and movement during our Music sessions with instruments and red/yellow ribbon.

We have also enjoyed developing our Fine Motor Skills through picking out Gold Coins with Tweezers in our Chinese New Year sensory tray and painting stripes on our Tiger masks.

Let’s not forget our Cooking/Food tasting sessions – where the Bumblebees designed a ‘tiger print’ with Jaffa Cakes and Orange Icing and enjoyed tasting Prawn Crackers.

Itโ€™s been another busy but lovely week. We are sending love to all our poorly Bees and we canโ€™t wait to see you all soon.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend!
