Deer Class Adventures ⭐️🦌

Wow! What a fantastic week in Deer Class. We have achieved so much all in one week!

We had a fantastic day on Friday celebrating Children In Need. We made Pudsey headbands to wear, we enjoyed a Pudsey themed tuff tray too! We even went to Oakpark in our Children In Need clothes and headbands! 😊⭐️What an amazing cause to support, this is a very special day that is close to all our hearts. ❤️

Over the last two weeks we have been learning about Remembrance, we have made some beautiful poppies to remember all the brave soldiers that fought for our country. We spent time reflecting and remembering those in the war efforts. We explored ways in which we pay our respects. We learnt that poppies are a special symbol of remembrance. We visited the Cenotaph in Pelsall to lay our Poppies on the beautiful display of remembrance.

On Monday we had a special visit from “A stars” where we completed a road safety walk within our local community. This was a wonderful opportunity to practice out road safety skills and danger awareness. We learnt 4 very important steps to helping us to cross, these were, “stop, look, listen and think”. We all listened very well and showed good knowledge of dangers. We are so proud of Deer Class for showing excellent listening skills and for being wonderful students of Oakwood out in the local community.

We also went to Pelsall Community Centre on the same day! We were busy bees! 🐝 We enjoyed being part of the community, we were so polite and remembered our manners very well.

This week we engaged incredibly well in our science session, where we learnt about plants and animals in our local environment. We enjoyed a classroom bug hunt! We ticked our scientist sheets when we found the correct minibeast. We even counted the legs on the minibeasts too! We had a fantastic conversation about our local environment and what animals and plants we might find!

We had our first table cricket session! This was a fantastic opportunity to develop turn-taking and sharing skills. We learnt the rules of table cricket and listened well to our instructor. It was amazing to see so many smiling faces! 😊

Our Champion this week is … Jayden! Jayden amazed us in swimming, he showed more confidence and listened well to his adults. It was fantastic to see Jayden determined to have a go. Well done Jayden! We are so proud of you! ⭐️✨⭐️✨
