What a fantastic week we have had, we have enjoyed a wide range of lessons and we can’t wait to share our experiences with you!

During our Colour Monster story time this week, we explored facial expressions and what each colour monsters face may look like in our own interpretations. We had so much fun making these faces and we captured some beautiful pictures! 🌈📸

In History this week we made Roman mosaics! We looked at Roman art and we learnt that Romans made mosaics out of gens and stones. Look at our amazing creations! 🏛🏺

We also explored Roman numerals this week in our history session. We matched the number to the Roman numerals using our “good looking” skills with a visual aid to help us.

We loved our attention autism session this week! Our listening and attention skills are developing and we are enjoying working as a group! The vocalisations and expressions we heard during this session were amazing! It was wonderful to see all our pupils so fascinated! ⭐️

This week we went to forest school, we loved being outdoors with our friends. We transitioned safely and showed awareness of cars and making sure we stopped looked and listened with our adults. We loved exploring nature and we found some interesting insects! 🌳

This week we completed some Harvest Festival activities, we learnt about the celebration and talked about foods we were thankful for. We completed some apple printing and completed some addition sums with the apples (maths link). We also made a tree of thanks, we wrote down everything we were grateful for, our answers were amazing and beautiful!

This week we have spent time promoting a love of reading, we have had breaks in the day to choose a book to read and we have also enjoyed listening to our Tonie which reads us a story! We have enjoyed reading to our adults and reading independently. We have escaped into lots of stories this week which has been wonderful!

We enjoyed our yoga session where we followed actions and practiced deep breathing. Everyone felt very calm after!

Tommie created a lovely gesture for his Deer Class using Lego! How lovely! 🦌⭐️😊

Our Champion this week is… Joshua! Joshua has been doing some beautiful talking this week and has amazed us with his development of communication skills! Well done Joshua! We are so proud! 😊⭐️

We have had a lovely week in Deer class, full of amazing moments! Our friendships have developed this week which is fantastic! There has been some wonderful interactions this week!

We enjoyed our history lessons this week, where we made Roman helmets and shields. We learnt some new facts too! Here are some pictures of our amazing creations!

We have enjoyed our new playground equipment this week, we are helping to tidy up and share resources. We enjoyed taking turns to skip!

We had a fantastic history lesson, we showed so much enthusiasm and excitement and we were wonderful historians!
We learnt about past present and future, by organising photographs into the correct time frame. It was incredible to hear our children sharing ideas and facts! Our current topic is the Romans, we learnt facts about where they lived and where they invaded and what they looked like. We can’t wait for another history lesson next week to find out more!

We engaged incredibly well in our Colour Monster story time! We were able to identify the monsters and what emotion they represented and we talked about things that make us feel the emotions.

Here are some pictures of our lovely tuff trays this week! We love exploring sensory items and we make some fantastic vocalisations about them too! We have also enjoyed playing board games, we are learning to turn-take and play the game following rules. We are doing a great job!

Zion amazed us with remembering key facts we had learnt in history and was able to answer lots of questions after the lesson! Zion shows a great passion and enthusiasm for history which is lovely to see. Well done Zion, we are so proud of you! 🏆⭐️😁

Wow! What a fantastic week we have had. We have shared some magical moments this week and we are so proud of our Deer pupils!

This week we completed some “All about me” art activities. In this activity we were learning positive affirmations! It is so important for our pupils to build self-esteem and confidence so we have started doing positive affirmations about ourselves to boost confidence. We will say these everyday, to surround ourselves with positivity and happiness!

We completed another fun activity where we drew the other half of our face! Everyone found this funny! How amazing are our drawings! We are very proud of our work! 😊⭐️

We showed excellent team work this week and enjoyed working together on our activities. It is amazing to see us sharing resources and having lovely conversations with each other! 😊⭐️

We enjoyed our maths session this week! We focused on number skills and completed some 1-1 work with our adults.
Tommy made a huge tower of cubes! Tommy was so proud of himself! 😁⭐️Sam made a magic game for Tracey, showing his imagination and creativity! What lovely interactions we had!

Our Champion this week is Sam! Sam has amazed us with his beautiful drawings that he made for our classroom displays. Sam is very talented and drawing, and we are so proud! ⭐️🏆

Wow! What a wonderful week we have had in Deer Class! We have had a fantastic start to our year together. It has been lovely to get to know our adults and pupils, what a lucky class we are!

We have been settling into life in Deer Class and getting used to our new surroundings in the new wing of school! We have a new classroom, a new hall and a new playground and much more! Everyone has settled incredibly well. We are so proud of all our pupils in Deers! ⭐️

We have been doing some activities to help us get to know one another, we have made labels for our pencil cases, art for our topic display, all about me profiles and pictures. We have been learning about our talents, interests and passions, which has been very interesting! Here are some photos of our first full week at school, we have already created some beautiful friendships which is amazing! We have been practicing our golden rules too!
