I want to say a huge well done to all of Doves class you are all incredible human beings and I am so proud to have been your teacher! It was a very happy and fun day today, we enjoyed having our class party playing with balloons, enjoying some party food and sharing lots of giggles together! It was also a very emotional day as we said goodbye to each other.
You have all been so amazing this year, you have worked so incredibly hard and all your hard worked has paid off so much as we can all see how much progress you have all made! Of course you all deserve the title of ‘Super Star’ this week! 🌟

We had a very exciting day last week as we got to go on a school trip to Forge Mill Farm and McDonald’s.

We had a very warm welcome from lots of furry friends!

We had lots of fun feeding the goats. We were very gentle with the animals and shared lots of giggles when we felt their tongues on our hands while we were feeding them.

We enjoyed playing in the water and with the sand making sandcastles. We did some lovely sharing with our friends.

Tuesday afternoon we explored some maths resources.

On Wednesday we shared some lovely interactions with our peers and adults during our sensory massage session.

Thursday was an extremely busy day but gosh did we have fun. First we started with having our school photos taken, there were lots of big cheesy grins 😁 Then we had a special treat from one of Oakwood’s teaching assistants Gemma in Hedgehogs Class who so kindly donated 2 bouncy castles for Oakwood to use for the day! Thank you so much Gemma we were bouncing with joy and it wasn’t just the children having fun! 😆

Then in the afternoon we had swimming and the sensory room.

Today we had our cooking session and we were using our knife skills to cut the fruit up to make a fruit salad.

This afternoon as always we had lots of fun with Bev in our music session and got to play different instruments.

Well done! You have tried so hard this week, you have been a kind friend to your peers and have listened so well to adult instructions. We are so proud of you Ollie, keep being your amazing self! 😆

On Monday we really enjoyed trying on different costumes and had lots of fun with our friends.

We took part in our weekly well being session. We did our ‘superman’ warm up dance, brushed our teeth, and expressed our feelings through dance, then ended with a nice calm session.

On Tuesday we had lots of fun exploring and playing different ball games.

Wednesday we enjoyed some calming time and shared some lovely interactions with our peers and adults during our sensory massage.

We had a good splash about on Thursday during our swimming session! We also enjoyed exploring our senses in the sensory room.

On Friday we made some lovely cards for Father’s Day.

Well done! You have been communicating so well this week. You are becoming more confident when verbally communicating your needs and wants with your adults independently and are doing amazingly well when using the ALDs to support your communication. You have also shared some lovely positive interactions with your adults. Well done!

On Tuesday we continued our ball skills in P.E.

We worked very hard during our phonics session. Some of us participated in a mini Read Write Inc Phonics session and practised writing our letter of the week ‘f’ and other enjoyed exploring the sensory trays to find the hidden letters.

We also had our 1:1 sessions completing 2 activities focused on our targets.

During our fine motor session we explored different activities.

We had lots of fun taking part in our sensory train ride this week!

On Thursday we had our first swimming session and we had lots of fun splashing around and participating in short 1:1 work sessions with our adults.

Doves have really missed each other over the holiday and we were all so happy to be together again! Best friends forever!

Doves want to also give a big warm welcome to our new teaching assistant Zoe who has joined our Doves family this week! We have all shared some lovely interactions with Zoe and can’t wait to share more! Welcome Zoe! 🥰

Well done! You have participated in lots of fun class activities this week and you have shared positive interactions with your peers and adults. You have done extremely well this week we are really proud! 😆

On Monday we took part in our well being session, copying the actions to the superman dance, brushing our teeth, doing some under the sea themed yoga, then finishing off with our cool down with bubbles and sensory scarves.

On Tuesday we had our P.E session outside and enjoyed practising our ball skills. We are doing really well at rolling the ball to each other.

We thoroughly enjoyed our last session in the forest this week 🌳

We explored lots of different maths resources during our maths session.

On Thursday we had tickets to our sensory train ride and had lots of fun! We stopped off at… bubble land, material land, water land and lastly foam land!

It has been a very sunny week this week and we couldn’t resist having lots of fun with water play outside! 💦☀️ Lots of lovely interactions were shared with each other along with many giggles 😆

Today we had lots of fun during our playtime, we got to play with lots of different outside toys and of course had some more water fun.

During our music session with Bev we explored the different colours of the colour monsters and how they make us feel. When learning about the colour blue for sad Bev brought in a very special instrument called the cello, we all had the choice to have a turn playing the cello to make sad sounds.

Well done! You have shared some lovely interactions with your adults this week. You are also building up your confidence with socialising with different people as you enjoyed sharing lovely interactions with Andre another teacher who came into Doves class Wednesday afternoon. You have worked so hard this week taking part in all activities and engaging really well. You’re a superstar and we are so proud of you!

On Tuesday we continued practising our ball skills by ‘pushing’ and ‘rolling’ the ball to a target. Then we got into pairs/groups and rolled the ball to each other.

On Wednesday we enjoyed exploring in the forest and making daisy chains on the field. Some of us also had fun making a den using the big sticks.

Thursday afternoon was our sensory massage time. We were all very relaxed and took it in turns to help massage our friends.

We had lots of fun making our fruit salads in our cooking session this morning. We are getting really good at making requests and using the knife correctly to cut the foods safely.

During music this afternoon we had fun playing the wooden instruments along to some music and took turns in playing our instruments independently. We also had our sensory story which was the colour monster and enjoyed dancing with the yellow monster to some happy music and then for the green monster we lay on the floor to calm down.

Well done! You have e done so well this week, you have listened and responded appropriately to instructions and taken part in all activities with full engagement. We are so proud of you Henry a big well done!

On Wednesday during our forest school we made some coronation flags using red, white and blue tinsel and found some sticks.

Thursday we enjoyed creating a collage of the king 🤴🏼

Today we decorated a cake for the king and had a coronation party enjoying our party food!

We had lots of fun exploring in our themed tuff trays and enjoyed our music session with Bev.

On Monday we had lots of fun learning new yoga poses during our under the sea themed yoga.

Our focus for P.E this term is games. At the moment we are practising our ball skills by ‘pushing’ and ‘rolling’ the balls into the hoop and taking turns doing this.

We had lots of fun exploring different maths resources!

As it is eco week we each got the chance to plant some flowers in our pot. They look beautiful 💐

In our cooking session for this term we are focusing on our cutting skills. We are practising To cut soft fruits using a knife and putting them in a bowl to make a fruit salad. We are getting really good at using the ALDs to make requests of what we want.

During our eco music lesson we made different sounds using various materials.

Well done! You have worked really well this first week back! We have saw lots of creative drawings from you and you amazed us all when you wrote you name and numbers 1 to 10. We are so proud of you well done!

On Monday we had our well-being session and enjoyed getting back into our routine and had lots of fun dancing to our happy dance.

Throughout the week we have each taken part in our workstation time to focus on our targets. We did so well!

On Wednesday we had our first Forest session for this term and we had lots of fun running around on the field and playing football together.

During our phonics session we focused on our sound of the week which is ‘b’. Some of us were practicing writing the letter b and other were finding the letters we have learned in some sensory trays. Ollie did some fantastic reading during phonics and was able to answer some simple questions about the book.

Thursday afternoon was our sensory massage. It was a very relaxing session that we really enjoyed.

We had a cooking sensory session today where we got to explore some blue spaghetti and find the sea creatures hidden in the tray.

In music with Bev today we played our instruments along to a special song for our new King Charles ready for his coronation 👑🇬🇧
