We returned to Morrisons, on Monday, to collect our ingredients for cooking. On our list this week was, bread flour, yeast and eggs. Pat, the lady on the checkout, kindly let us have a go at scanning the items on the till that we were buying.

On Monday, we thoroughly enjoyed exploring our new soft play area! We worked on our physical development, in particular developing our gross motor skills. We rolled, crawled and jumped around the spaces, whilst spending time with our friends.

Today, we have spent time in the new secondary STEM room. We have enjoyed exploring the new environment and using a range of different technologies. We are beginning to develop our programming skills by using Beebots, Code-a-pillars and Glow and Go Bots.

Over the next few weeks, we are going to be learning about Harvest. To begin our celebrations, we have learnt about wheat. We have discussed where wheat comes from and how it is used to make flour. Have a look at our photos, from our cooking session, this week, where we have made our own bread! It was amazing watching the yeast help our dough to rise. We have even learnt a new cooking technique – kneading.

Our ‘Champion of the Week’ is Alfie. Alfie’s has received this for being calm and brave on his recent visit to the dentist. Alfie has been practising all week, how to open his mouth wide so that the dentist could check his teeth. He sat on the chair and was so still and patient. We are so proud of you Alfie! Well done!
