We’ve attempted Stage 4 of bucket time. This is where each person is given a box, with a simple activity in, to take to the table. They complete the activity at the table and then show it to the teacher. So far, we have tried sticking stickers onto paper and using tubes of icing to squeeze onto a plain biscuit. We will continue to practice with similar activities!

This term, we’ve been reading ’Handa’s Surprise’. We used our senses to explore the fruits from the book and matched the animals to fruit that they take!

Summer 2 ☀️

In the forest area, we collected natural materials for our nature tray! We are practising the makaton signs for ‘leaf’ and ‘tree’.

We practised pouring water and we explored filling and emptying containers. We saw what ‘empty’ and ‘full’ look like.

We made Father’s Day cards during bucket time! We took turns to stick a yellow ‘yolk’ onto our cards.

Number Day!

On number day, we engaged in a range of activities including numicon, number blocks stickers and numbered stepping stones! We listened to some songs on Ten Town and counted using

In Summer 2, we will read Handa’s Surprise and We’re Going on a Lion Hunt. We will explore all our senses, including tasting fruit, and we will learn the names of some of the animals in the book.
