What a hot week ☀️🔥!

Due to the heat this week, we have eased and amended the timetable to ensure regulation and happiness of the children. We have been going outside earlier than normal to ensure outdoor time before the heat become unbearable. We have had the foam, bubbles and materials outside to explore.

In class we have been exploring the Indi cars and bee bots as early coding. This was the first time they have explored the Indi cars which follow instructions from the coloured mats. We are hoping to be able to spend more time exploring these.

Stay safe in the heat and we will see you next week.

Happy Father’s and Others Day!

Another lovely week in Butterflies.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads, grandads, and moms who wear both hats—you are truly appreciated! 🎉

We have begun to look at our insects area of ‘on the farm and in the garden.’ They enjoyed exploring the large insects and wiggly worms as well as picking out the cereal garden base.

We have also had new sensory experiences added to the walls leading in the new block of the school leading to Butterflies classroom.

Today’s superstar is Keike! We are so proud her progress engaging with adult led activities and increased independence exploring resources. Well done, Keike!

We ended the short week with biscuit decorating The children enjoyed adding or rather eating the sprinkles and icing.

Hope you all enjoyed your long weekend and ready for another sunny week.

Creative and Physical

This week, we’ve been diving into both creative and physical learning activities. In PE, the children have been enjoying a variety of games, including throwing and catching, bucket catch, hopscotch, and tunnel run. We’ve also been making the most of the gym, where the kids have had a blast with larger equipment like the spinning top, rainbow tunnel, and roller.

In art class, we’re diving into the world of sculpture! The children are experimenting with paper mache using homemade glue made from flour and water. By the end of the summer term, we aim to create farm animal sculptures that tie in with our farm-themed topic.

Our Shooting Star this week is Musa! 🌟 Musa has had an impressive term, showing great improvement in listening and understanding. We’re so proud of his progress!

Additionally, we have another Shooting Star this week: Calvin! 🌟 Calvin has demonstrated an excellent understanding of symbols to communicate and follow instructions. We’re thrilled with his progress!

Keep up the good work!

Holi / Red Nose Day

This week we have enjoyed lots of activities.
We have celebrated in particular Holi with the support of an Indian drummer coming into school.

On Friday, we celebrated Red Nose Day by wearing red or spotty clothes. We explored red resources and made chocolate rice krispy cakes with pinkish red sprinkles. Everyone enjoyed mixing the Rice Krispies into the chocolate, tipping it into the cake liners and our favourite part was choosing the sprinkles and adding those to the top and sneaking a few into our mouths 😋
